LEAF – A Children’s Holiday Camp of Art, Theater & Imagination
In this camp, children stepped into a world of wonder and creativity at our LEAF camp – a unique arts and theater experience built around an original story titled "LEAF", a heartwarming tale about a lost snow bear and the forest friends who help him find his way home.
In the story of LEAF, a young snow bear is torn away from his family when his icy home begins to melt due to global warming. Swept away by ocean currents, he washes ashore in a mysterious woodland far from the North. Cold, frightened, and alone, he is soon discovered by the woodland animals—a kind squirrel, a wise owl, a playful raccoon, and a courageous fox—who, despite their differences, come together to help him journey back to where he belongs. Along the way, the snow bear learns about friendship, bravery, and the importance of protecting our Earth.
At LEAF camp, this story came alive through visual arts, costume creation, theatre, and music. Campers were invited to explore a wide range of artistic skills as they painted scenery, crafted animal masks, and sewed their own costumes with the help of our brilliant costume coordinator, Stacey, who turned sketches into magical wearable art.
Under the guidance of our talented music teacher, Andrea, the children formed an ensemble orchestra—adding live sound and emotion to the play with original rhythms and melodies they helped compose. The camp culminated in a heartwarming final performance of LEAF, where every child had a role in bringing the story to life, whether on stage or behind the scenes.
Being part of a play teaches children far more than lines and songs. It builds confidence, teamwork, empathy, and creative thinking. It invites children to express themselves, listen to others, and contribute to something greater than themselves. Theater fosters a sense of belonging, and when children see their efforts come together in a shared performance, they feel the magic of collaboration and the pride of achievement.
